Note: This article was updated July 24. Summer for many of us means sipping a cool beverage after a long bike ride, rafting or SUPping down the river, hiking with our dogs, staying away from wildfires, and somehow keeping our kids’ brains turning to mush. For a dedicated few, it means braving the challenge of the Fourth Annual Golf FORE Education tournament at Keystone Ranch Golf Resort.
Education Foundation of the Summit hosted the annual tournament Monday, July 17, 2017. The tournament and silent auction raised $4,000 for Summit School District teachers and students.
EyeTech Optometry’s Team A was Gary Sorensen, Matt Elston, Sam Devlin. They used cunning and skill to outplay and outmaneuver their opponents in order to award their prize, a $1,000 check, to the Summit High School Golf Program. The other teams put up a good effort and took their defeat in grace. It was a great time for a great cause. The other teams included FirstBank, Breckenridge Grand Vacations Gives, Vail Epic Promise, Omni Real Estate-Anne Marie Ohly, EyeTech Optometry’s Team B, and Greco’s Pastaria. All the participants truly made the event a memorable day. We thank these teams for their participation, sportsmanship, good humor, and dedication to our schools.
